Web Hosting targets small businessWith Web hosting revenues expected to reach $25.8 billion by 2006, according to current forecasts by International Data Corp the competition among hosting companies is fierce. Many Web hosting companies are targeting small- and medium-sized businesses. These businesses can save thousands a year by outsourcing their web hosting rather than trying to set up an in-house operation. These savings were evident during a Forrester Research comparison of outsourcing costs to the average in-house Web hosting cost. Many web hosting services are tailor made for late adopters - people and businesses who might not yet have a online business presence - or those who want to concentrate on their own business but don't have the desire or time to develop their own IT departments. The business model for webhosting companies, has been to attack that market sector and reach the small- and medium-sized businesses that don't yet have a Web site because many are fearful of technology and are getting started late in the game.
