Web-Hosting firm accuses AOL of unfair spam blockingAmerica Online has been accused of unfairly labeling a local Web-hosting company as a spammer and blocking the company's clients from e-mailing AOL customers.CI Web Hosting, who filed the suit, in Texas district court, says that AOL blocked the web hosting company's customers for almost two weeks. In its defense, AOL said it is protecting its members from unwanted e-mails. AOL, the largest Internet service provider, intends to vigorously defend itself in court. "AOL has always acted in the best interests of its members and the request of its members when applying its unsolicited bulk e-mail policies," Graham said. "We're hopeful that once all the facts are laid out that our actions will be deemed not just appropriate but a necessary enforcement of our anti-spam policy," said a spokesman. A State District judge issued a temporary injunction to prohibit AOL from blocking the web hosting company. But CI Web Hosting still complains that although AOL has stopped blocking some of it's customers, it was still blocking others. As a result, CI Web Hosting plans to file a motion for contempt against AOL.
